Who we are

This website is operated by Amanda Brooke Hair (“we”, “us”), a hair studio and professional education business based in Devon, England. We are the data controller for the personal information collected through this website. You can contact us about anything in this policy at amandabrookehair@gmail.com.

What we collect, and why

We only collect the information you choose to give us:

• When you book an appointment: your name, email address, phone number, the service, date and time you choose, and any notes you add. We use this to hold your appointment, contact you about it, and send you confirmation.
• When you send an enquiry (education, salon team training or general contact): your name, contact details, town, and whatever you write in your message. We use this to respond to you.
• Marketing consent: only if you tick the separate, optional box. We will never make marketing consent a condition of booking or enquiring, and you can unsubscribe at any time.

We never ask for payment details through this website, and we do not collect any information in the background beyond what is described on our cookies page.

Our lawful basis

We process booking and enquiry information because it is necessary to take the steps you have asked for — reserving your appointment or answering your message. Marketing email is sent only with your consent, which you can withdraw at any time.

Where your information lives

Bookings and enquiries are stored in a secure database hosted in London, United Kingdom (provided by Supabase). Notification and confirmation emails are delivered by Resend using European infrastructure. The website itself is hosted by Vercel. These providers process data on our behalf and under their own security and data-protection commitments; we do not sell or rent your information to anyone, and we share it only with these service providers or where the law requires.

How long we keep it

We keep booking and enquiry information for as long as it is needed to manage your appointments and our conversation with you, and no longer than necessary. You can ask us to delete your information at any time.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you have the right to ask for a copy of the information we hold about you, to have it corrected or deleted, and to withdraw any consent you have given. Email amandabrookehair@gmail.com and we will help. If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.

Changes to this policy

If how we handle personal information changes — for example, if we add analytics to the website — this page will be updated and the date at the top revised.
